Happy Labor Day!

Welcome back, friend.

It's Labor Day in the USA, which means *checks notes, reads line for line* we are
"...honoring and recognizing the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the developments and achievements of the United States."

AHEM.

I've gotten some random errands done, and I've got some more to do. As a sneak peak for those who read these "musings" (we all know it's just bullshit text and word vomit, let's get real), a sneak peak;
I've been working on a project. I managed to snag a Dell Precision T7810 for $10! I got this for some web developement and some light programming work (some for work, some personal).
Specs are as follows:

Component Part
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2603v4 (6 core, 6 thread)
RAM: 4GB DDR4 Registered ECC Mystery RAM (2133 MHz) (Yikes!)
GPU: nVidia NVS 310 (gag)

"Wow Zed, you really struck...'gold' there." - you right now

WELL I DID, because as it turns out, this is a DUAL-CPU motherboard model!
So, what are the plans? Well, after straight fucking with it for HOURS (shoutout to my B O I, Ryan),
including calling Dell support to much chagrin, I've already begun upgrading the machine, and have purchased some extra parts!

"What specifically are you getting?" I hear you screaming at your flat panel monitors, pining for some sort of resolution.

Well, here are the planned parts and their statuses:

Component Current Part Replacement Part Price Status
CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2603v4 (6 core, 6 thread) Intel Xeon E5-2683v3 x2 (14 core, 28 thread) $10/each, $20 total Ordered
RAM: 4GB DDR4 ECC Mystery RAM (2133 MHz) 8GB DDR4 ECC Samsung x8 (2133MHz) 6.95/stick, $60 total Ordered
GPU: nVidia NVS 310 (gag) Gigabyte (AMD) RX 550 2GB $25 Replaced

And you can bet your sweet bippy that I'm going to have a complete writeup in the "Projects" section of my website once complete.

For now, I'll leave you with some pretty neofetch of the current system as is:

Yes, I use GNOME. Sue me.
Until the next blogpost.
